There's no such thing is unnecessary cute flashbacks. No exceptions.

I love the last panel.
How fast is she walking o_o;

Re: Red Rabbit The flashback was necessary to give context to "You are one lucky kitty." It also exapands the universe beyond what we've seen so far and reinforces the other allusions to other "angels" and "demons".

The flashback was also short, making it plausible to have occurred in the short time required for the protaganist to recall it. Well played.

Oh wow! I love how she is running down the wall! And the flashback was necessary to point out that she isn't supposed to save people.

I hate to nitpick, but ... According to a previous comic he is jumping from a building almost as tall as the empire state building, which has a height of roughly 400 meters. Therefore, the boy goes down with gt^2=400m where g=9.81m/s^2 is the earth acceleration. Hence, he will reach the street in about 6 to 7 seconds. If you consider how long she is standing around thinking about whether to help him or not, which I think is at least 3 seconds, she will have to accelerate (on top of the earth acceleration) with about 34 m/s^2. For comparison, a normal car would manage about 6 m/s^2. Oh, her speed would be about 180m/s when she hits the ground that is about 650 kph.

Whoa, zoid. xD She has powers, so maybe she can defy physics fly down and catch him really fast? :P

Either way, I think this comic is so awesome and interesting even though I'm still not sure what's going on.

Seriously lolling at comments.

Whoever said flashbacks are actually occurring in real time?

Reply The Man (Guest), March 18th, 2010, 7:18 am

Decelaration must somehow be achieved before bringing the falling guy to a full stop. "Catching" him with two arms is even more likely to kill him than the concrete below (which at this height and speed has a killrate so close to 100% you can assume it's 100%). It's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop, so she'd have to slow him down first.

zoid, The Man: Physics have little place in comics, especially here since she can obviously defy them. Knock it off with the science-trolling.

Reply tsukiyomi, March 18th, 2010, 11:22 am

@zoid - You've fuelled my roflcopter with that science lesson XD
It's a comic and one involving a supernatural protagonist. Chillax!

I was merely answering the (valid) question raised by eishiya. The implications you derive from what I wrote are subject to YOUR interpretation.

(I admit; the title was quite provocative ^^)
